The viewing of “Electric Daisy Carnival Experience”; a movie about a popular rave festival, followed by a party afterwards, was by invitation only and thousands of people who had been waiting in line were told to go away.

Thousands gathered in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood to watch the screening of 'Electric Daisy Carnival Experience'
That made the group angry and verbal insults quickly exploded to rock throwing and putting fire to trashcans lined alongside Hollywood Boulevard. Before long, the famous walk-of-fame section of Hollywood erupted into a small riot.
Los Angeles police were quick at the scene and quick to act shooting at the restless crowd with beanbags, closing off the famous Los Angeles strip and standing shoulder to shoulder across the grand street, ready to take on and take in anyone breaking the peace.

Los Angeles police were called in to control the mob. Some passerbys couldn't pass up a photoshoot standing next to L.A.'s notorious "black and white".
Los Angeles has had plenty of experience with riots and L.A. police have become specialized in how to quickly subdue and disperse an angry mob of people.
In 1992, there were the Los Angeles riots that broke out after L.A. police officers were acquitted of severely beating Rodney King Jr.. Prior to this civil unrest, there were the Watts Riots in 1965 that lasted six days and burned most of the inner city of Los Angeles to the ground.
Still, a couple of police cars were vandalized, one was put on fire and rocks and bottles were thrown by some protestors. Several trashcan were set ablaze as well before police was able to control the crowd.
During the unrest, Hollywood business were forced to shutdown, buses and traffic were rerouted to bypass Hollywood Boulevard and the Metro section running through the area was shuttered down to prevent access.
Last night’s screening was promoted by famous rave DJ Kaskade who encouraged his fans in Twitter to join the “block party” that was scheduled after the movie.
The Tweet read: Today@6pm in Hollywood @Mann’s Chinese Theatre. ME+BIG SPEAKERS+MUSIC=BLOCK PARTY!!! RT!
The chaos erupted around 5:40 p.m. after a Los Angeles Fire Department inspector determined Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, where the film was screening, was overcrowded, department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
Kaskade was quick to post several other Tweets, asking the angry mob to quiet down and chill out: “EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO HOME NOW! I DON’T WANT THIS TO REFLECT BADLY ON EDM OR WHAT WE ARE ABOUT,” he tweeted. “BE RESPECTFUL AND CHILL OUT!!”
After only a few hours, live at Los Angeles’ most famous tourist attraction went back to normal. Most business stayed closed for the remainder of the night and traffic slowly got back to crowding the boulevard again.
Before long, there wasn’t a trace left, except for a presence of more police officers, that just hours earlier, there had been public unrest.
