NEW YORK – Tornadoes sweeping through Missouri and Oklahoma become U.S.’ deadliest in 60 years.
Pure and utter devastation as thousands of homes and buildings are in ruins. Cars and trucks are picked up at one place and dropped miles further looking like scrap metal.

Houses are reduced to piles of burn-wood and a flat-bed pickup is smashed into a heap of scrap metal
America’s people cry as the U.S. government declares the string of tornadoes and twisters to hit Missouri and Oklahoma as being the deadliest in 60 years.
122 people have been confirmed dead and 750 more have been hospitalized. Authorities fear that once cleanup efforts get under way more bodies will be pulled from underneath the rubble.
Entire neighborhoods have been reduced to dust. An 80 mile long stretch of pure devastation now makes a clear divider in the city of Joplin, Missouri, which has been hit hardest by the monster killers.
In Oklahoma City four people have lost their lives when deadly twisters crashed through their neighborhood.
CNN weather watch warns that more tornadoes may be coming towards the West of Missouri, East of Kansas. The city of Joplin is once again part of the danger zone.
Bad weather makes rescue efforts difficult and searching for survivors was temporarily halted on Tuesday when two workers were struck by lightning.
Those devastated by the deadly twisters look through piles of rubble [what's left of their home] to salvage whatever they can; a photo, a lamp, a child’s dress.
23 year old Lauren Miller searched through the tangled debris of wood, plaster, bricks and iron, all that is left of her house, for a picture of her grandma.
“It’s not easy,” says Lauren “and I think it is going to get harder still. Right now adrenaline is keeping us up and going.”

M'Lynn McCann hopes to find something she can still use from the rubble of what use to be her family's home
The U.S. has been plagued with a slue of natural disasters in 2011, despite the year being barely midway through.
Massive flooding have destroyed much of the South and now deadly tornadoes are turning the mid-west into scrap and according to weather watch, there may still be more to come.
