CNN reported earlier that a suspect described as male with dark skin and average height, was arrested. CBS News stated however that the suspect was a white male who was seen in a video depositing a bag on the street at the same spot the explosion occurred.
Both the FBI and police say they are pursuing a person of interest but no arrests have yet been made in the Boston marathon bombing.
The FBI did say however that at this point in time American extremists are behind the explosions that left 3 people dead and injured 176 more, and not a foreign terrorist group.
Police also said that 17 people are still in critical condition.
