Passengers reported seeing an electrical device with wires sticking out of it laying in a phone booth at the upstairs floor of Terminal B. A small portion of cannabis lay next to the device, according to eyewitnesses.

Bomb specialists were called in immediately. The terminal was evacuated but passengers were allowed to return shortly thereafter.

Police refuse to say what the device was but informed everyone there was no danger for an explosion.

The short ‘hickup’ caused flight delays in and out of La Guardia airport.

New York, and other cities in the United States, are on heightened alert after the Boston bombing.

The NYPD has added an additional 1,000 anti-terrorist specialists at airports, border posts and in New York city, including the World Trade Center and the Bank of America Tower.

Footage recorded by security cameras located at popular places is being watched carefully.

Seventh Avenue by Times Square was turned into an NYPD parking lot yesterday with a small dozen of blue and white vehicles lining up along the sidewalk.

“Everyone is in a state of heightened preparedness,” one New Yorker said to the New York Post.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg had ordered the increase in police presence ‘to protect the city’. Several dozen police officers had to cut their vacation short.

Bomb sniffing dogs were employed at the Penn metro station and metro passengers are being subjected to having their baggage checked.
