Holmes, aka ‘Batman Shooter’ wanted to confess to murder last week in exchange for being spared the death penalty. Prosecutors then said they would first need to talk with family of the deceased and other victims before answering Holmes’ plea deal.
The prosecutors also said they were convinced James Holmes’ plea deal was just a publicity stunt and nothing more.
Today the Denver Justice Department announced that the prosecutors have not accepted James Holmes’ confession deal and that they will pursue the death penalty.
Holmes (25) is accused of shooting to death 12 people and injuring scores more during the Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises” premiering in a Aurora, Denver theater, last year.
