Car Lube Shooter Killed During Police Shoot Out

Two people were shot death by the perpetrator at the Gaffey’s Fast Lube in Herkimer and two people were killed and two other injured during a shoot out at John’s barber shop in Mohawk.

64 year old Kurt Myers was hiding in an abandoned bar in Herkimer when police found him on Thursday. Myers allegedly opened fire on a police canine and killed the animal, according to New York State Trooper Jack Keller.

Police opened fire on Myers, killing him, thereby ending a 19 hours long confrontation.

Reportedly, Kurt Myers put his own apartment on fire on Wednesday before going on his shooting rampage armed with a riffle.

Eyewitness say Myers opened fire on people at the Gaffey’s Fast Lube and John’s Barber Shop without warning.

“We saw a guy walking around the shop,” eyewitness Dillon said of the killings she saw from a nearby sidewalk. “There were two shots fired. We watched him reload the gun. He was walking around. We watched him shoot the one guy, then he went into the shop and shot the other guy.”

Myers background is yet a mystery. Police revealed that two of the people killed by him were prison guards.
