According to the documentary, Pistorius interrupted the date at least twice in twenty minutes with a telephone call.

Lahoud insists that his date with Reeva was nothing more than ‘two friends getting together for a cup of coffee’ and adds that he asked Reeva if everything was alright considering Oscar’s frequent phone calls.

Pistorius and Lahoud had met twice before and both encounters were peaceful and without complications or problems.

The documentary airs tonight on BBC3 and has interviews lined up with people close to Pistorius, who share information not yet made publicly available.

Oscar Pistorius, who is free on bail, sticks with his story that he mistook Reeva Steenkamp for a burglar on that fateful Valentine’s Day when he shot her to death through a bathroom door in his house.
