Raizy was just 24 weeks pregnant at the time of the deadly crash, that was caused by a BMW slamming into the taxi they were passengers in, at full speed at an intersection in Brooklyn, New York.
At the hospital, doctors brought Raizy and Nachman’s baby to the world. The newborn, a boy, was born 2 months premature and sustained severe injuries from the accident as well.
Today, the newborn died from its injuries.
Isaac Abraham, a spokesperson for the Orthodox Jewish family said the baby would be buried upstate, according to Jewish tradition, as soon as the hospital releases the body. Raizy and Nachman were buried on Sunday afternoon.
The driver of the BMW and a passenger fled the scene. They are still at large. The owner of the BMW, Takia Walker of the Bronx, was arrested Monday and charged with insurance fraud for allowing someone not on the insurance policy to drive the car.
Abraham says he demands a triple homicide charge for the driver of the BMW. “This coward left the scene of the accident not even bothering to check on the people of the other car,” he said.
