The 86 year old Queen was administered at the King Edward VII hospital in London, the same medical facility Kate Middleton was admitted to when she suffered from severe morning sickness.
The BBC reports that all of the Queen’s official duties have been cancelled for the coming week.
The Queen had been complaining about stomach problems since Friday. She was scheduled to attend a military ceremony in honor of Saint David’s Day in Swansea, but refrained from appearing.
Instead Queen Elizabeth II spend her entire weekend at the Windsor.
The King Edward VII hospital is keeping close tabs on the Queen’s condition, making sure there will not be a Kate Middleton repeat this time around when two Australian DJs managed to get information about the Duchess’ health while pretending to be royalty.
