LONDON – 48 year old Stephen Graham is a well-respected professor at the Newcastle University in the U.K.. Yet somehow, Graham came to be known as ‘Graffiti Prof’ after he vandalized 27 luxury cars.

Professor Graham was suffering from a pounding toothache and decided to ease the pain with some ‘hardcore’ home-made medicine: a couple of extra strong painkillers downed with a healthy shot of gin.
But once the ‘magical potion’ kicked in, Graham’s toothache didn’t just disappear, it turned the normally gently, well respected professor in a ‘Jekyll and Hyde‘ character who ended up vandalized 27 luxury cars parked over an area of several miles.
Dressed in just his underpants and a vest, Graham reportedly ‘engraved’ the vehicles with slogans. Using a screwdriver he carved the words: “very dumb” and “quirky” in the expensive body paint of the vehicles.
Professor Graham was eventually apprehended and brought in front of a judge. The judge told the Professor that he had outstanding credentials and everything he read about him was filled with praise.
“You are a very distinguished professor at the university. Everything I read about you expresses the highest regards for your character and your professionalism,” the judge told the professor.
Still, the judge ruled that Graham should pay for the damage he had caused, despite ‘not being himself’ at the time he committed the ‘Graffiti Act’.
He told the professor to cough up $US40,000; his entire savings. Professor Stephen Graham also received nine months probation.
When the professor was asked why he did what he did he answered that he could only remember ‘dreamy images’, being asleep at home in his bed and being picked up by police.
