Gary Pritchard, the lawyer for Pristorius handling that case says: “Negotiations for a settlement are in full swing!”.
Reportedly, the Paralympian filed a counter claim against his former neighbor Cassidy Taylor-Memmory, who sewed Pistorius in 2009 because he allegedly slammed a door in her face during a party.
Oscar Pistorius was arrested at that time and spent a night in jail. Police dropped all charges against him afterwards.
“My client insists the woman ruined his reputation back then and demands $US200,000 for damage control,” Pritchard said.
The case still has to appear before a regional judge in Pretoria but Pritchard said he is trying to settle the case without a judge stating his client wants to wrap this case up as quickly as possible.
Oscar Pristorius was released on bail last week after being accused of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day.
A member of the South-African “Lowveld Firearm Collectors Association” says that since the Olympic Games, Pistorius, who is also a member of that club, has become an avid gun collector.
Reportedly, Oscar Pistorius purchased a wide range of guns and pistols of made in the United States. Chairman of the gun club, John Beare, said that Oscar Pistorius also purchased a semi-automatic weapon in 2012.
