NEW DELHI – A 54 year old father of three kids won the election in Bajengdoba in the state of Meghalaya, India; his name: ‘Adolf Lu Hitler’.

Hitler, who won 3 elections, told his voters not to worry and assured them he had no connection to the former German dictator.
“I understand I go by the name of the most hated person in the world,” Hitler told his voters. “That’s why my dad added ‘Lu’ to my name and that makes me different.”
In India no one seems to be bothered or stunned by the man’s name. But when he travels abroad, it becomes quit a different story. His visa is usually being inspected thoroughly before he’s allowed to enter other countries, including the United States.
“I have never been refused entrance to a country but I am always being asked why I have this name,” says Adolf Lu Hitler. “I answer them that I didn’t chose my name.”
Adolf Hitler wasn’t the only ‘unusual’ name to appear on the election ballots; ‘Frankenstein’ was also listed together with ‘Kennedy Cornelius Khyriem’ – named after the Kennedy family and basketball star Kareem Abdul Jabbar – and ‘Jhim Carter Sangma’ – named after US president Jimmy Carter.
Adolf Lu Hitler isn’t the only person with a reference to the German dictator. Last year, an Indian man was asked to replace the ‘Swastika’ sign hanging above his store’s window and change his store’s name from ‘Hitler’ to something else.
The owner complied but only after he discovered on the internet who Hitler was.
The election for ‘assembly man’ took place on February 21 2013. There were officially 345 candidates listed on the ballots. The Indian district has a history of bizarre names.
