The 56 year old actress admitted herself to a clinic after she ‘lost it’ during a cruise in the Caribbean.
A video posted online, which has since been removed by Fisher’s own request, showed the actress as a ‘surprise celebrity’ on the cruise ship in an alleged drunken stupor singing out of key while her dog did his business on a podium next to her.
A spokesperson for the actress insisted that Fisher, who never hid her addiction to alcohol and drugs under tables or chairs, was not drunk but ‘acted strange’ because of her bipolar disorder.
Carrie Fisher openly discussed during an Oprah Winfrey interview that she is bipolar.
“I just thought I was a drug addict; someone who couldn’t stop doing drugs out of their own free will. Eventually it turns out I suffer from manic depression,” Fisher told Oprah.
TMZ reports that Carrie Fisher went to the hospital to have her medication doses adjusted and that she’s already feeling much better.
