HOLLYWOOD – Last Sunday’s Oscars ceremony has already been labeled as being ‘boring’, ‘dragging’ and without ‘flair’.

The appearance of Michelle Obama who handed out the Oscar for Best Picture, didn’t make the show any better as many questioned afterwards if the speech given by the First Lady was a ‘subtle’ attempt to convey a political message.
Seth MacFarlane who hosted the show didn’t get the best reviews either and the ‘boob’ song that he performed in the beginning of the ceremony, complete with backup choir, didn’t sit well with media and critics alike.
MacFarlene sings about “we saw their boobs in movies”, addressing actresses Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Helen Hunt, Naomi Watts and Scarlett Johansson.
To the latter MacFarlane said, “we got to see your boobs on our cell phone”.
A skid between cartoon character Ted from ‘Family Guy’ and actor Mark Wahlberg wasn’t highly praised either.
The sentence uttered by Ted: “you got to be Jewish if you want to work in Hollywood”, was ‘hurtful’ and ‘not funny at all’, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
The Los Angeles Times wrote: “this didn’t work. The night was boring and long. As expected, MacFarlene showed his vulgar side so now and then, sadly enough he wasn’t funny.”
The New York Times posted that the entire show was ‘too aggressive and sexist’.
