The Huawei ‘Ascend P2′ smartphone is reportedly capable of uploading, downloading, installing Apps, surfing the web and do other smartphone functions faster than any other smartphone currently on the market.
Huawei is not saying what type of SOC (system on chip) it uses in the Ascend P2 to make it operate that fast. Prior smartphone models produced by Huawei operated on the K3V2-chip, which is made by the company itself.
The Ascend P2 also supports a 4.7 inch screen capable of displaying resolutions at 1280×720 pixels; not completely a true HD screen.
The smartphone has two build in cameras: a 13-megapixel camera in the back to take pictures and shoot video with and a 1.2-megapixel camera in the front that can be used for video phone calling.
The phone has 16GB storage memory and 1GB operational memory. The device operates with a Huawei designed interface called ‘Emotion UI’ and uses an OS that is derived from the Android 4.1.2 of the Jelly Bean-series.
The company said there will be a simultaneously world-wide release of its Ascend P2 smartphone but didn’t say when that would be. Huawei did also not address the price of its newest smartphone.
