When he came to the UK he realized that not a single medical book referred to sugar as a healing substance. Murandu decided to conduct his own research in the viability of using granulated sugar to speed up the healing process.

In his study, Dr Murandu applied sugar to wounds of 35 patients who had injuries that were not healing well.

Alan Bayliss (62), one of the patients, had his right leg amputated above the knee. Using conventional remedies, Bayliss wound was not healing well.

But when Dr Murandu began to pour granulated sugar over the wound, the results were simply stunning. In just two weeks time, Bayliss wound had shrunk substantially.

“It’s revolutionary,” says Bayliss. “In the beginning he poured an entire teapot of sugar on my wound, now he only needs 4 to 5 teaspoons.”

Dr. Moses Murandu explains the ‘sugar healing phenomenon’ saying: “sugar draws water from the wound, making it impossible for bacteria to thrive. They need moisture to survive”.

The doctor added that using sugar on wounds does more than speeding up the healing process.

“Patients are happier and more optimistic because they can see their wounds heal,” the doctor says.

Nurse Jonathan Janneman said: “It’s beautiful to see that something as innocent as granulated sugar can give patients such a morale boost.”

All of Dr Murandu’s 35 patients are making remarkable healing progress with no painful side effects.

Dr. Moses Murandu received the ‘Innovation Award’ for his research.

“I believe in the sugar and the nurses and doctors who see the effects are beginning to believe in it too,” Murandu said.
