Court document show that Jackson Jr. spend $US43,350 on a gold-plated men’s Rolex watch, $US9,587.64 on children’s furniture, $US10,105 on Bruce Lee memorabilia, $US11,130 on Martin Luther King memorabilia, $US22,700 on Michael Jackson items, including $US4,600 for a ‘Michael Jackson fedora’.
His wife, Sandra, aka ‘Sandi’, is accused of filing false tax returns for the years 2006 to 2011.
Jackson Jr. entered Congress in 1995 and resigned last November. Sandi was a Chicago alderman, but resigned last month.
The former congressman said in a statement: “I offer no excuses for my conduct, and I fully accept my responsibility for the improper decisions and mistakes I have made.”
Insiders say that Jackson Jr. will most likely plead guilty to avoid an indictment and get a lesser sentence.
The charge against Sandi Jackson carries a maximum of three-year prison sentence.
