JOHANNESBURG – Sports giant Nike has pulled its ‘Bullet’ ad with paralympics runner Oscar Pistorius from TV and internet.

The South African Olympic Gold Medal winner is accused of having shot to death his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp early Monday morning.
The ad shows Pistorius standing in the starting blocks. The message ‘I am the bullet in the chamber’ accentuates the athlete’s performance.
Nike developed the artificial carbon legs Oscar Pistorius used to run 3 Olympics with.
In the ad, Pistorius says: “I was born without a bone beneath my knee. But that’s the body I was given. That’s my weapon. That’s how I can be victorious. That’s how I fight my war. That’s how I broke the world record 49 times. That’s my weapon. That’s the way I fight.”
In South Africa, Nike reported it has not yet made a decision about the contract it has with Oscar Pistorius.
“It’s a terrible story. We are awaiting the investigation results,” said a spokesperson for the company. “We first want to talk with Pistorius or his manager.”
Not only Nike blocked its Pistorius ad. In South Africa all Oscar Pistorius ads have been removed from public view.
