LONDON – The Pakistani teen Malala Yousufzai, who was shot in the head by the Taliban last year while sitting on her school bus, has been released from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK., were she received treatment for her injuries.

Malala was at the hospital for nearly four months. She underwent skull-reconstruction and cochlear-implant surgery to restore her hearing last weekend.

The hospital said the 15 year old teen had been “making good recovery” from her surgery but will continue her rehabilitation at her family’s temporary home in Birmingham.
The Pakistani teen was for opposing the Taliban and openly writing about it on her blog. Members of the Taliban were angered by her objection to the group’s interpretation of Islam, which limits girls’ access to education.
