Roth spend years analyzing brain structures and brain patterns of such individuals and by mean of X-Rays, the doctor discovered a dark mass in the brain region of criminals that deals with compassion, empathy and sadness.

Gerard Roth says his discovery leads him to conclude that criminal behavior finds its roots in a person’s genetic makeup.

The doctor conducted his study by letting convicted hard-core criminals watch gruesome and horrific murder scenes while he monitored their brain activity.

“They showed no emotions while watching brutal scenes and in their brain, where empathy and sadness are stirred up, didn’t respond or react,” the doctor said.

Roth says almost all criminals have a gap in the frontal portion of their brain. He concludes that criminal behavior is more than likely genetic.

The doctor says that his discovery would make it possible to detect potentially ‘young criminals’. Young individuals with a disturbance in the frontal section of the brain are 66 percent more likely to become criminals later in life, according to the neurologist.

Environment and how a person is raised could change or trigger the criminal behavior.

Dr Roth says a brain tumor can also cause of reverse criminal behavior. He cites actually cases of individuals with a convicted criminal past who had brain tumors. When the tumors were removed the individuals became quiet, calm and none-violent with no criminal tendencies.
