LIMA – Dutchmen Joran van der Sloot, convicted of murdering Peruvian student Stephany Ramirez, is getting married, according to his ‘fiancee’, 23 year old Leidy.

The couple reportedly have been seeing each other for about two years and are possibly getting married still in February, according to Dutch TV station RTL.

Leidy tells the Dutch Embassy in Lima Peru that van der Sloot allegedly helped with getting the wedding papers in order. That has however not been confirmed.
Rumors have that the Dutchmen and Leidy already have a child together. Leidy says she knows Joran van der Sloot’s past but insists ‘he has changed dramatically’.
Peruvian media states that Joran van der Sloot’s marriage to Leidy would mean he would become a Peruvian national and that makes it extremely difficult to have him extradited to the United States, where he is wanted for blackmailing the parents of student Natalee Holloway, who disappeared in Aruba in 2005 and whose whereabouts are still unknown.
Joran van der Sloot has already been considered a suspect in the disappearance of the American student in Aruba but authorities both in Aruba and in the United States have thus far failed to provide concrete evidence.
The Dutchmen is currently locked up in a Peruvian jail for the 2010 murder of Peruvian student Stephany Ramirez. He was sentenced to 28 years.
