While filming the once in a lifetime experience, Laros spotted a Bottlenose dolphin that had difficult moving about in the water. The dolphin also seemed to stay close to the divers and snorkelers and a few times came within inches from a few divers.

That’s when divers notices the dolphin’s snot and dorsal fins were caught in fishing wire and the fishing hook had embedded itself in on of the fins.

Remarkably, the dolphin allowed the divers to remove the entangled nylon wire from its snout, its mouth and around its fins and stayed incredibly calm during the ordeal.

Unfortunately, the divers were not able to remove the hook from the fin but reportedly, the Bottlenose dolphin didn’t to seem to suffer from it.

“There was no doubt the animal was asking for help,” said Larros. “I could remove the fishing line from the dolphin’s snout and fins but not the fishing hook.”
