Mom Sends Son To School With Loaded Gun

The second grader was unaware he had the guns and bullets in his Batman backpack.

The mother of the boy, Deborah Farley (53) later told police she had placed the weapons and the bullet in her son’s backpack the night before and carried it with her the night before while walking through Queens but forgot to take the weapons out the backpack when she got home.

When the mother remembered about the guns, she rushed back to the school and asked her son what he had done with the weapons. The 7 year old told his mom he had given them to a classmate.

The mother then informed the school officials who called police immediately.

Police determined the boy had only handed the alarm pistol to his friend. The actual gun with bullets and bag with extra bullets were still in his backpack.

The mother was arrested for child endangerment and illegal possession of weapons, because she had no permits for both pistols.

Police uncovered more ammunition and seven bags of Marijuana during a search of the mother’s home.

The seven year old and his nine month old brother have been placed with child protection services.
