John H. Pope, 66, was standing trial in Cebu for possession of illegal weapons when he suddenly opened fire on the lawyer and the doctor who were suing him.

Then Pope turned the gun on himself and took his own life.
Cebu police said afterwards that Pope also shot the prosecutor and added the man is still in critical condition.
Eyewitness say that police killed Pope but Cebu police maintains they shot him in the arm at the moment he shot himself in the head.
Cebu police added they were forced to shoot at John H. Pope because he refused to obey commands to surrender but instead opened fire at officers.

Pope had already been spending time in jail since 2011 for possession of illegal weapons.
