According to Pola (60), Kinski’s daughter, she was abused and mistreated by her dad from the age of five until she turned 19.
“I defended myself many times, but he didn’t want to listen. He did what he wanted to do,” Pola told Stern Magazine.
“When I saw him in the movies I use to think ‘He plays the role just like he is at home’.”
Pola is releasing a book about her experiences with her famous dad. She says she couldn’t take it anymore that he is still admired by many.
Klaus Kinski acted in more than 130 films. He is known as the ‘evil child’ of cinema because most of the roles he played portrayed the character of a dark and sinister individual.
Kinski died in Lagunitas, California on November 23 1991. He is perhaps best remembered as a leading role actor in the films of Werner Herzog, including: Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972), Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979), Woyzeck (1979), Fitzcarraldo (1982) and Cobra Verde (1987).
