LONDON – The riddle around the identity of the mystery man photographed with Lady Diana in a picture that has never been seen before, has apparently been solved.

The black and white image shows a young Diana Spencer in a reclined position with a young man holding a book, leaning slightly against her shoulder. A circle is drawn around the two images and the words ‘not to be published’ have been inscribed on the photo in pencil.

The picture will be auctioned off in New Hampshire, US, in January but questions remained about the identity of the man seen in the photo with Diana.
That riddle has now been solved. The young lad in the picture with Diana is reportedly aristocrat Adam Russell, a former student of Oxford University and the great-grandson of former Tory executive, Stanley Baldwin.
The picture was taken in 1979 during a groups vacation at Val Claret in the French Alps.
The photo was acquired by the Daily Mirror in February 1981, two days before Diana’s engagement to Prince Charles was made public. It’s the Daily Mirror that circled and wrote on the photograph.
Why the photo has never been published until now remains a mystery.
Royalty watcher Andrew Morton, claims Russell was madly in love with Diana but their relationship never blossomed beyond friendship. Adam Russell married TV anchor ‘Ali’ and lives with her at a deer farm in Dorset, UK.
The photo will be auctioned off from January 17 to 24th with a starting bid of $US200. The photo is expected to trade hands of ownership for the sum of $US750K.
