Plane Bursts In Flames On Freeway In Russia

MOSCOW – A plane crashed on a freeway and busted into flames, killing two people at the Vnukovo Airport in Russia.

The plane, a Tupolev TU-204 with flight number RWZ9268, belonging to ‘Red Wing’ overshot the runway and crashed into the freeway next to the airport. Authorities says 12 passengers were on board the flight. 2 were killed and others have been taken to nearby hospitals with various injuries.

The cockpit and the tail broke off the body of the plane which remained intact for the most part, contributing to many lives being saved.

Russia media states there were four crew members and 8 passengers on board the plane that came from the Czech Republic. According to the media the two individuals that were killed are crew members.

After the crash, the freeway was shut down and other inbound flights were routed to nearby airports.
