CINCINNATI – 21 year old Aubrey Ireland from Cincinnati says she got fed up with her parents constantly interfering with every part of her life and decided to sue them for stalking of all things.

The judge presiding over Ireland’s agreed in the young adult’s favor, cited her parents with stalking and forbid them from making further contact with their daughter.
The ‘interfering’ began when Aubrey’s parents paid for her tuition to the University of Cincinnati, wishing their daughter a wonderful career ahead in acting and music.
During her stay at the university Aubrey claims her parents became very meddlesome with everything she did.
“It’s annoying that my parents come to visit me at the university, even though I am an adult. They’re giving me a bad name and they’re following me everywhere I go,” the music student told the judge.
Despite Aubrey having good grades and excellent acting performances, her parents would often drive 600 miles to visit her unannounced.
They accused her of taking drugs, ‘sleeping’ around and having mental issues. Aubrey asked them to stop but her parents meddling became only more intense.
Aubrey’s parents went as far as telling the head of the faculty that their daughter had mental problems. They knew that they said because they installed software on her laptop and her cellphone allowing them to track her every move.
The invasion became so overwhelming that the university had to provide Aubrey with security guards to ward off her parents. Her parents then stopped paying her tuition because “Aubrey did no longer talk to them”. The university gave Aubrey a scholarship allowing her to finish up the year.
The judge had first asked for an amicable solution between Aubrey and her parents but when mother Julie responded she wanted Aubrey to pay the $US50K tuition money back, it was clear those intentions were futile.
The judge then ruled that considering Aubrey is an adult she is entitled to live her own life.
The judge then ordered Aubrey’s parents to stay at a distance of at least 470 feet from their daughter and not to have any contact with her until September 23, 2013, when Aubrey is set to graduate.
