Internet providers in China must now remove all illegal information immediately and are forced, by law, to report those spreading such information, to authorities without delay.
China Morning Post in Hongkong printed on Friday that Xi Jinping, the new leader of China’s Communist Party, is determined to get the internet under control.
For Jinping, the internet is a threat and data entering China from outside the country is already being blocked by the ‘Great Firewall of China’.
In China the internet has been instrumental in organizing anti-government rallies lately; an action the Communist Party of China intends to stop dead in its tracks.
