One eyewitness described the man “looked like a sumo wrestler”.
Did it work?
Yes and no! The man managed to not have to pay the excess weigh-in fee but when he tried going through the body scanners, the system when nuts and flagged he was ‘carrying a concealed item’ of sorts.
The man was pulled to the side and body searched. Because the layer of clothes were too thick, he was taken to a room and had to ‘strip down’.
That’s when airport security found the traveler also had batteries and USB sticks in pockets of some of his jeans.
The unidentified man was on route from China to Kenya but it’s unclear if he made it to his destination on time.
