All these years the murder remained unsolved.
Jack McCullough, now 73 years old, was found guilty of kidnapping and murdering a 7 year old girl in 1957.
McCullough’s half-sister who suspected Jack all along was able to convince police to reopen the unsolved murder case last year.
In 1957 McCullough was 17 years young when he plucked Maria Ridulph from the street in Sycamure (Illinois) and kidnapped her. Four months later the body of the then 7 years old girl was found 60 miles from where she was abducted.
She was strangled and stabbed to death.
McCullough was found guilty in September this year. He received life imprisonment on Monday.
The family of Maria said they finally have closure after all these years of not knowing who murdered her.
