SYDNEY – An experienced para jumper from Australia has died after colliding with another parachute jumper in mid air.

The man, in his mid-thirties, lost conscious after the collision, lost control of his chute and landed outside the allocated landing zone.

The jumper crashed on an earth tilting machine in Wilton, near Sydney. Paramedics attempted to but could not reanimate him. He was announced dead at the scene.
The other jumper suffered only minor injuries. He managed to land safely and was wheeled off to a hospital where he received medical attention.
Both sky divers were experienced jumpers.
An investigation into the cause of the crash has been instigated.
