Allegedly, the 94 year old is under observation to undergo several tests but is doing well according to the current President Jacob Zuma’s administration.
A co-worker of Zuma said in a statement: “Today, December 8th 2012, our former President Nelson Mandela has been taken to a hospital in Pretoria for medical checkups”.
“He is doing well and there is no reason for concern.”
Nelson Mandela, who is known by his Xhosa clan name as Madiba or Tata (father), served as president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.
He was the first ever South African president to be elected in a fully representative democratic election.
