WASHINGTON – December 21 2012, the last day of planet earth and everything on and in it, including people … at least according to many who claim the Mayan prophecy will come true.

The Mayan calendar ends on that fateful day and according to mystics and even experts that’s earth will stop to exist. Many have prepared themselves for the apocalyptic day by moving to a tiny village near in the Corbières Mountains.
Bugarach, a town of usually no more than 200 people, has become the safe-haven for those who believe the world will come to an end on December 21 2012. Thousands have already flocked to Bugarach, they believe, is a sacred place that will protect them from the end of the world.

Now the US White House has come out saying that December 21 2012 will not mark the end of the world and people should stop scaring others, especially children.
“Regretfully these rumors have frightened a lot of people, especially children,” the White House writes on its blog USA Gov. “The world won’t end on December 21 2012 nor will it any other day in 2012.”

David Morrison, a NASA astronomer says that at least once a week he gets an email from a child as young as 11 wanting to commit suicide because of the ‘up and coming apocalypse’.
The USA government states that no end of the world day was predicted by the Mayan, nor will there be a meteor that destroys earth or a planet that will through earth’s polarity out of whack.
Just last month NASA said that earth should more worry about being destroyed by climate warming and people. “The biggest threat to Earth in 2012 and in its future are people,” said Heliophysicist Mitzi Adams of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center.
Since the White House made its official statement, Russia has joined its consent saying “they have a special view into what is going on with earth and it will guaranteed not end on December 21 2012″.
