LONDON – News about Kate and Will expecting traveled across the globe like wildfire and all too soon thereafter the world was told Kate was taken to the King Edward II hospital because she suffered from severe morning sickness.

In the meantime, doctors at the hospital taking care of the Duchess, have stated she’s suffering from a condition known as ‘hyperemesis gravidarum‘ or ‘acute morning sickness’; a condition that affects fewer than four in every thousand pregnant women but is most often experienced by woman expecting twins.

So could 30 year old Kate Middleton be expecting twins?
Being that Kate is less than 12 weeks pregnant, it’s too soon to tell. But doctors say that mothers-to-be who suffer from the condition are three times more likely to have a multiple birth than other women.
Kate had to be admitted to the hospital, because the condition causes excessive, persistent vomiting and nausea which can linger for an entire pregnancy.
When left untreated, hyperemesis patients lose weight because they are unable to keep food or drink down and are often driven to terminate the pregnancy.
Already the news about the royal couple expecting their first child has turned into a frenzy with many ‘bookies’ allowing mega bids on the gender of the baby to be and what name the child would be given.
Elizabeth is thus far the favorite name if the baby is a girl at 8/1, followed by Frances, John and Charles, at 10/1, and Diana at 12/1.
Other names people are bidding on: Anne, James, Phillip, Victoria, Richard, Spencer and even Camilla and Fergie.
Should the Duchess have twins, the firstborn will become monarch.
