Ten people died when a rocket slammed into a civilian residence on Gaza strip. 5 children and 2 women were among the dead. 10 others were injured.

On Saturday night 2 children were killed during Israeli attacks on Palestine.

The four story building in the suburb of Sheik Radwan was bombarded by two or three rockets fired from an F-16 fighter plane. The building collapsed completely, killing and injuring those inside.

At least 7 of the victims are all from one family. It is the largest civilian casualty since the fighting began 5 days ago, according to Palestinian medical personnel.

A spokesperson for the Israeli army states that ‘targets in Northern Gaza were blasted’ and that the army will investigate the civilian deaths.

US President Barack Obama has stated he stands ‘completely’ behind Israel for the right to defend itself.

“There is no country in the world that would tolerate rockets raining on its people,” Obama said during a conference. “Israel has the absolute right to expect no rockets are fired on its territory.”

Since Israel started its ‘Pillar of Defense’ against Palestine on Wednesday, 64 Palestinians and 3 Israeli have been killed.

Over the past few days at least 500 rockets, shot from Gaza, have landed on Israeli soil and an additional 267 rockets were intercepted by the Israeli anti-aircraft system ‘Iron Dome’.

On Saturday alone 170 rockets were blasted into Israel, injuring five people.

The Israeli army has executed 300 attacks on Gaza Strip, targeting locations that were pinpointed several months ago an ‘hotbeds’.
