BREAKING NEWS: Rumor is spreading that Chris Hansen, correspondent for Dateline NBC and host of the popular TV show “To Catch A Predator” is reportedly been arrested for child molestation.
This rumor is completely FALSE. Hansen, who is well known for his stand against child molestation and who puts in real time and effort to put these criminals behind bars, has become the butt of a very distasteful and utterly bad story, only because the man involved in an actual child molestation case share his last name.
The man arrested for inappropriate sexual innuendos with male minors at a park in Blairstown, New Jersey, goes by the name of James William Hansen. Except for his last name, this person has no connection to TV correspondent Chris Hansen whatsoever.

Benton County sheriff arrested the 28 year old late Wednesday evening and transported him to Benton County jail. According to Sheriff Randall L. Forsyth, J W Hansen was taken into custody for two counts of sexual abuse; one count for the act to intend to commit sexual acts and a second count for lewd sexual behavior with a child.
J W Hansen is currently free after posting $25,000 bail.
As for Chris Hansen, the Dataline reporter has absolutely no involvement in this crime other than maybe running a special on TV about this bizarre story.
