RIO De JANEIRO – A mother laying on the delivery table in Brazil experiences the worst birth of her life as delivery doctors decapitate her newborn while its being born.

The baby got stuck with its shoulders in the birth canal and doctors tried frantically to get the baby out of the mother who had been laying on the delivery table for over 3 hours.
22 year old Maria Viera Alcilne Amoin said afterwards “I just knew something went horribly wrong when I suddenly heard a loud cracking sound and doctors began to yell at each other”.
The horrific incident took place at the Santa Isabel Hospital in Aracaju, Brazil. An eyewitness to the birth said:
“Maria suffered hours and hours of discomfort and pain. Doctors pushed at her stomach, trying to get the baby out of her,” Gilmara Azevedo dos Santos, a family member of the mother, told Cenariomt.
One doctor apparently used too much force in an effort to pull the baby free when the loud cracking sound could be heard and another doctor yelled “Marcos? Are you crazy?”
After the incident the mother was rushed into emergency surgery where the rest of the newborn’s stuck body was removed with ‘C’ section.
Doctors had misjudged the size of the baby that, at 14 pounds, was too big for a normal birth and should have been born with a ‘C’ section to begin with.
Decapitating a baby during birth is extremely rare but not uncommon, despite it seems impossible to pull a head from a body which would require almost inhuman strength.
In the United States a similar incident took place in 2006 in Louisiana. The mother of this horrific birth was awarded $US1.4 million in compensation.
Another decapitation birth has also been recorded in Turkey.
As for the Brazilian birth, the ‘headless’ child was named Neymar, after the famous Brazilian soccer player, and buried. The mother was too weak to attend the funeral.
Family members said they will sue the hospital for neglect.
