The security flaw allowed hackers to take over PC and operate them remotely.
According to the software giant, the new patch doesn’t just solve the security leak but fixes four additional ‘vulnerabilities’ as well but refuses to say what these ‘glitches’ are or entail.
Computer users can download the patch directly from the Windows Update option on the start menu.
For individuals who configured their Windows XP, Windows 7 or Vista to update automatically, do not have to do anything, according to Microsoft.
Microsoft said MS Internet Explorer 10 was not affected.
