Psychopaths Do Not Have Good Noses

Researchers of the Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, published their findings in the ‘Chemosensory Perception’ journal on Thursday.

The researchers claim the reason for psychopaths not being able to smell well is because of a deviation in the Orbitofrontal complex of the brain, which affects both the nose and behavior.

79 none-criminal psychopaths, used during the study, were reportedly barely able to smell the difference between coffee, pineapple, leather and other items.

Psychopaths have a difficult time with connecting to other people’s emotions.

Expert say, psychopaths have a ‘behavioral defect’ causing that person’t conscious not to be developed properly, thereby leading them to possibly criminal activities.

The study will be used in future analysis of human behavior and will assist psychologists with determining who is a psychopath.
