Bus Accident In France Deadly

PARIS – A tourist bus capsizes on a freeway in France, killing at least one and injuring 23 others on board the bus.

The bus carried 29 British children and 18 adults and two drivers at the time of the accident and were on route back to England from a ski trip in Italy.

Authorities believe that the driver more than likely fell asleep behind the wheel. He suffered only minor injuries and has been arrested.

One person died in the crash and one teenage girl (13) was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

23 other suffered from mild to serious injuries they sustained when the bus rolled over to its side after speeding over a grassy embankment.

The bus was on the A26 freeway in France, nearby Chalons-en-Champagne, which is situated between Troyes and Calais, when the accident occurred.

Many of the passengers were in shock and had to be consoled after the accident.

The bus belongs to the Solus Coaches company that sponsors bus trips throughout parts of Western Europe. The company has not yet released a statement.

The freeway was shutdown for four hours.
