Apple Releases Surprised Version of Mac OS X Mountain Lion

CUPERTINO – Barely eight months after Apple released the OS Lion, top man Tim Cook introduces a new version of the operating system.

Apple’s newest OS version 10.8 is called Mac OS X Mountain Lion and has been released as a direct competitor against Microsoft’s Windows 8 OS that is due out later this year.

Normally, Apple is in the habit of introducing a new software and have it available to consumers a few days later. With Mountain Lion, the company took a different approach.

Several tech-journalists had the chance to ‘test out’ the new operating system well before it was being introduced by Tim Cook.

What Mountain Lion users can look forward to:

- iChat has been replaced with a much more extensive messaging system
- messages can be synchronized with iCloud and be used by any Apple device
- messages can be send from Mac to iPhones
- notifications and reminders have been taken from iOS
- swipe left of click icon to display notification bar
- Twitter has been more efficiently integrated

Those willing to create an account with Mac Developer Program can already get a taste of Apple’s newest operating system; a fully functional, limited time, Mountain Lion version is available after sign up.

The actual product will be launched during the summer months this year.

How Much will Mountain Lion Cost?

No one is talking, except that the ‘introductory price’ could be low, whatever that means.

Apple did say however that there will not be a USB stick version of the new OS. Users will instead have to download the Mountain Lion operating system directly.
