DAMASCUS – In the city of Homs, Syria, at least 105 people have been killed by troops on Friday, and hundreds more were injured during a large demonstration by citizens against the current Syrian regime.
Rami Abderrahman, Chairman of the Syrian Human Rights Organization stated Friday night that shooting is on going as large crowds continue to gather in the streets of Homs.
According to Abderrahman, the army shoots at people with mortar grenades and several buildings are on fire. He asked the Arabian Liga to intervene on behalf of Syrian citizens.
A doctor at a local hospital said there is a ‘killing machine on the loose’ in Homs. He added that the hospital is in dire need of blood to treat the many wounded.
The city of Homs is one of the most important locations where demonstrators gather to express their discontent with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.
