Being diagnosed with cancer is a hard pill to swallow for anyone. But it’s especially difficult for a mother of a young child.
Such is the story of Sara Duncan, who at 44 years young was diagnosed with breast cancer. Sara decided however to make her cancer trial a positive experience for her daughter, no matter what she herself had to endure.
As her hair began to thin and fall out, an after effect from Chemotherapy, Sara asked her daughter Lola to cut off the rest of her hair.
Friends and family were present on the day Lola buzzed off mommy’s hair. The special event was taped and when it was apparent how very emotional everyone in the room had become, Sara decided to post the very private video on YouTube.
The brave mother hopes that her video will inspire others to turn their cancer illness into a positive experience with their families. Sara also hopes her YouTube video will bring greater awareness to one of the most devastating cancers for women to date.
