MOSCOW – A large banner draped across from the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia demands Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin gets out.
The banner was hung by militants from the opposition party Solidarnost and reads “Putin, oechodi!” (Putin Go Away!).
In addition to the writing, the banner also displayed a caricature of Putin with a large X drawn over it.
The banner was draped over a giant advertising billboard that is stationed directly across from the Kremlin building.
Putin has been under the gun lately for allegedly ‘falsifying’ Russian elections that resulted in his party coming out on top.
One militant said: “Our goal is to remind everyone that a demonstration for an ‘honest’ election is planned this weekend”.
“We also want to point out that under Putin’s regime it is impossible for Russia to hold honest elections.”
A recent poll indicates that only 1 in 10 Russians believes that the elections will be conducted honest and fair.
A large demonstration is planned on Saturday in Moscow and tens of thousands of Russians are expected to show up and demand that honest elections take place in their country.
One hour after the banner was hung in plain sight, it was removed by Russian authorities.
