Steve Jobs Preferred Vinyl Over Ipod

CUPERTINO – Thanks to Steve Jobs’s visions the world has advanced in digital electronics with enormous strides

The digital devices he envisioned, designed and created only 15 years ago, have changed all our lives forever; whether it be because of an iPod, iShuffle, iPhone, iPad or even an iMac.

Through his inventions, Steve Jobs, along with his company Apple Inc, contributed enormous benefits to the music industry. His creation of the iTunes website has forever changed how we as individuals listen to and obtain music.

With the birth of iTunes, Jobs also nipped illegal downloads in the butt while given performers a new platform to promote themselves; one that has proven to be highly successful.

Interestingly enough, the digital mastermind, was an individual who preferred to old over the new in his personal life.

For Jobs, listening to vinyl records was much more enjoyable than walking around with an iPod loaded with 1000s of his favorite songs.

According to Canadian singer Neil Young, Jobs found that the sound quality of his iPods was poor in comparison to the crisp crackle coming from vinyl records.

Young says he agrees with Jobs’ sentiment and expresses that music quality has actually declined with the birth of the digital era.

“That’s why,” says the singer, he is looking to develop a technology that will not drastically reduce the sound quality online.

Shortly before his death, Jobs and Young were actively working together on the development of a more “realistic” digital sound quality that would closely resemble the sound coming from vinyl records.
