CAIRO – In some countries, citizens take the law of justice into their own hands, regardless of what the legal system says or thinks about it.
Such a place is Egypt where recently in a small town two ‘suspected’ thieves were stoned and their bodies hung from lamp posts.
The death sentencing began when news spread that a driver of a Tuktuk, a motorized rickshaw, was allegedly robbed by several men and was shot to death when he tried to defend himself.
The angry townspeople overpowered two of the men who were allegedly involved in the attack and tortured and killed them.
Afterwards the dead bodies were hung from lamp posts for every to see.
Police identified the two men as former prisoners and have arrested two participants in the ‘lynching ceremony’.
Since the fall of Egypt feared leader Hosni Mubarak one year ago, criminal activities in that nation has begun to escalate.
Many citizens complain that crooks abuse the new political system and that police doesn’t do anything to improve safety for the Egyptian people.
