Hitler Painting Sold At Auction

BRATISLAVA – A rare 1913 painting by former Nazi-German ruler Adolf Hitler fetched $42,300 at an auction held in Slovakia.

Auction house Darte had hope to get around $27,500. The buyer has not been identified.

Before becoming a Nazi dictator, Hitler tried making it as an artist in Vienna, Austria. His natural raw talent showcases a variety of paintings he created during his lessor known days.

The painting sold in Slovakia was painted by Hitler in 1913. It’s a small canvas portraying a dark night with the moon reflecting over the ocean.

The family of a Slovakian painter sold the painting. Most likely that painter got the picture from Hitler when the two met during Hitler’s artistic days in Vienna.

Darte sold another Hitler painting last year. That portrayed was also owned by the same Slovakian family.
