HAMA – Syrian Protestors collide with army in the city of Hama, Syria and tension is rapidly building like a pressure cooker.

Thousands gathered in the city to demonstrate for their plight of justice, equality and freedom.

What should have been a peaceful rally, ended up in chaos, bloodshed and 44 dead when Syrian army began shooting ‘Willy Nilly’ at demonstrators.

According to activist Aboe Omar “Tanks are attacking the city from four directions”.

“Dozens of people have been shot and are in the hospital. There is a shortage on blood to perform transfusions,” said Omar.

The activists says that bodies are ‘sown’ across the streets and that the death toll with most likely rise.

The United Nations claim that already 5,400 people have been killed since demonstration began against President Bashar al-Assad regime in March 2011; 384 children are included in the fatalities.

According to Unicef director Rima Salah, 380 kids have been thrown in prison, some of them aren’t even 14 years old yet.

The Syrian government has yet to comment about the accusation of the army using Syrian citizens for ‘target practice’.

Despite the chaos and death, demonstrators continue to up rise against al-Assad demanding he steps down from power.
