CUPERTINO – The Apple gadgets iPhone 4S and iPad 2 that operate on the company’s newest iOS-5 system can now reportedly be jail broken, which makes it possible to install non-Apple approved applications on the devices.
According to TechCrunch, “jailbreaking” the two Apple devices was accomplished this past weekend. It took hackers in all just three months to develop code to disable iOS5 security without it being re-activated after a fresh restart.
The Jailbreak Mac version software was released on Friday. Windows-PC users got to ‘unlock’ their iPhone 4S or iPad2 on Saturday.

The developers of the jailbreak software say that a ‘dream team’ of programmers spent thousands of hours on developing Absinthe, the name of the software that performs the jailbreak and makes the Apple gadgets non-restricted.
Apple stated however that it is releasing an updated version (v 5.1) of iOS5 soon and that release will disable Absinthe, making the phones Apple restricted once again.
